NuFW chosen by french Éducation Nationale ministry
The Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale and INL just signed a nation-wide agreement about use of the network flow authentication solution NuFW, for all french schools, starting with the 10.000 which are already using Amon, the EOLE firewall.
All user workstations are concerned, since this agreement is nation-wide and is about both GNU/Linux and MS-Windows environments.
This agreement, which was signed by Mr. Gilles Fournier, head of the Chef du Service des Technologies et des Systèmes d’Information du Ministère, strengthens existing links between the Ministère and INL, and allows the NuFW technology to be used on all french schools, up to high schools, concerning a total of about 750.000 worskstations.
According to Luc Bourdot, head of EOLE, they « found NuFW very attractive because it breaks the false assumptions of IP-based security. Authenticating firewalls enable a much broader perspective, especially for dealing with mobile users ».
